History of the Claddagh rings.

They were delighted to make public their dedication to their other half by the wearing of a public symbol that announced that dedication to all. Given this practice of wearing men's marriage bands was fairly new it was all of the more worthy that these men were prepared to refuse the marriage obscurity open to them from not wearing a ring and actively selected to make a public statement about their choice. The modern man may consider it his duty to pick to make the same public marriage statement as his other half will. And his better half may actually regard it as a condition of the wedding that he do so.

Many girls don't even consider the chance of not wearing one. First is he nervous about a public show of his marriage status? Some men, whether correctly or incorrectly, are threatened by this. It is traditional for the ring to be worn as a marriage or engagement band and then to be passed down from generation to generation. Some famous wearers of the Claddagh ring include Queen Victoria, Edward VII and recently Buffy the vampire slayer ( who was given the ring by Angel ). Though not likely it is kind of possible for a ring to get caught in machinery. And it's regularly a choice selected by the couple together, perhaps one of the 1st they make in conjunction about their marriage. So you've got both decided that he's going to wear a men's marriage band. Once the person or couple have decided to buy a men's ring for him there are still selections to make. Generally though , even where the couple are to wear a matching ring set, the 2 rings are dissimilar.

Here's a great story about mens wedding rings
